Tahoe Meadows Trail

Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Trail is a wheelchair accessible 1.3-mile loop along meadow and through forest near Mount Rose Summit, 10 miles north of Incline Village and North Lake Tahoe. The hike provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in a beautiful setting. Along the trail are chances to observe wildlife as well as enjoy views of the area. The elevation is 8,740 feet, but the gentle terrain makes it an easy walk. Leashed dogs are permitted on the trail.
Tahoe Meadows Trailhead
The Tahoe Meadows Interpretive Trail begins at a well-marking parking lot along Highway 431, a half mile before Mount Rose Summit. Vault toilets are available there. A clear interpretive sign displays a map of the trail route around the meadows.

From a trailhead ½-mile southwest of Mount Rose Summit on Highway 431, hikers set out on a broad, well-marked trail. The path winds along the edges of meadows and crosses small creeks. Wildflowers abound in mid-summer. Boardwalks cross particularly wet or fragile meadow areas.
The loop trail is usually taken in a counter-clockwise direction. Those in wheelchairs will find a slight grade and light sand. Many adjustments to the trail bed have been installed to make it wheelchair friendly. Interpretive signs are found along the way. A short side-trail leads to a viewpoint overlooking Tahoe Meadows. Another side-trail connects to the Mount Rose Campground.

- Water is not available at the trailhead.
